Hutch United (HU) is a grassroots organization started by postdocs and graduate students at Fred Hutch to promote the success and retention of underrepresented and self-identified minority scientists by fostering a supportive and diverse community. HU has developed a number of programs that facilitate mentoring interactions between scientists at all levels, provide networking opportunities, identify and develop solutions for diversity-related challenges and celebrate successful landmarks. Being an inclusive organization is key to the success of Hutch United and its mission. HU aims to increase diversity not only at Fred Hutch but also to train ‘diversity-competent’ scientists.

Through this blog, Hutch United members will share stories, ideas, and reports that all help promote the creation of a more diverse and inclusive scientific community.
